POSITION APPLIED FOR:                                    HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

POSITION REPORTS TO:                                    HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Fully bilingual in English/Spanish with the ability to translate documents and interpret during conversations.
  2. Strong English writing skills.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. 
  4. Strong data entry skills. 
  5. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.  Ability to handle several tasks concurrently. 
  6. Immaculate attention to detail. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Orient new-hires on company policies, safety rules, job description, expectations, and employee benefits program.
    1. Verify all paperwork is in the new hire folder, filled out completely and accurately.
    2. Administer and grade flagging test.  Issue flagging card.
    3. Label and distribute all mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE).
    4. Explain job benefits to new hire. 
  2. Input new-hire information into current employee database. 
  3. Translate documents and interpret as needed. 
  4. Aid as needed in the recruitment of all field and office personnel. 
  5. Conduct a minimum of two employment verifications on all applicants prior to the employment offer. 
  6. Maintain the employee database and update or terminate current employees as needed. 
  7. Respond to requests for verifications of employment. 
  8. Become E-Verify certified and run all new and rehired employees through E-Verify's system. 
  9. Run reports as needed, including but not limited to:
    1. Discipline Report
    2. New Hire Registry Report
    3. Turnover Report
    4. Evaluation Report 

10. Maintenance of DOT files and record keeping to ensure 100% compliance with Title 49 CFR, Part 199 (Drug Testing Pipeline Safety). 

11. Perform exit interviews on departing employees 

12. Develop comprehensive knowledge of all available company benefit packages.  This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. Health Insurance
  2. Vacation
  3. Holiday
  4. 401(k)
  5. ESOP

 13. Schedule, organize, and help with special events including:

  1. Employee breakfasts
  2. Casual Days
  3. Safety Night
  4. Open Enrollment
  5. Others as directed by the Human Resources Director 

14. Maintain and update the Human Resources Bulletin Boards at all equipment yards, major projects, and other areas as needed, but minimum of a quarterly basis. 

15. Inventory stock and purchase office supplies. 

16. All other duties as assigned.
