Flippo Construction is seeking a reliable, self-motivated, team oriented Project Manager with a minimum of five (5) years of work related experience. The Project Manager will need to possess a BS Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent experience. The Project Manager must have job costing experience, be able to manage multiple tasks and supervise multiple individuals. Basic knowledge of contract law and negotiating skills as well as computer experience are required. The Project Manager needs to be well organized, exhibit good problem solving techniques, and have excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Flippo Construction Company, Inc. (FCCI) is an "EMPLOYEE OWNED" general and heavy construction business operating primarily in the Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Baltimore MD areas. The company has grown from a small utility concern to one of the major players in our area's heavy construction industry.

Flippo's Operational services consists of Heavy Construction, including Bridges, Concrete Structures, Roadway and Site Work. We also provide utility installation, repairs, and long-term service/maintenance contracts for the major utility providers in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Your primary responsibility as a Project Manager is to manage safe profitable projects within the company In addition, you must have a thorough knowledge of excavation and overall jobsite safety. You are required to follow all policies and rules of Flippo Construction Company, Inc., as well perform the following:

  • Develop and manage profitable projects. Track and review productions daily/weekly. Inform senior management of the project status, contract negotiations/variances, cost reports and progress.
  • Build and maintain CPM schedules with 2-3 week projections. Document, prepare, and provide change orders to contracts. Manage subcontractors and vendors, including buy-outs.
  • Track and project monthly billings. Collect and report receivables; Submit accurate and timely weekly billings and review/approve invoices.
  • Assist in the coordination of job start-ups as well as bids when necessary.
  • Review jobs with field supervisors, report equipment needs and abuse when applicable.
  • Actively participate and support the Quality and Recruiting Programs
  • Visit jobsites weekly; attend meetings; participate in training/continuing education.
  • Review field timesheet and daily diary
  • Verify receiving tickets
  • Prepare and verify weekly quantity reports
  • Work towards and promote the Operations Yearly Objective and Goals.
