Flippo is looking for reliable and motivated Mechanic, must have minimum 3 years experience working on work trucks or F-250 style pick ups. Extensive knowledge of Diesel and gasoline engines. Extensive knowledge of construction equipment.

Flippo Construction Company, Inc. relies on its maintenance staff to perform all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance to its heavy equipment. All the maintenance staff should assume the following responsibilities, which includes; heavy-duty diesel mechanics, welders, tire men, and oilers.  A person selected for a mechanic's position must have primary experience in the following:



  1. All must exercise safety procedures and apply caution at all times to avoid accidents around the shop and in the field.
  2. Consideration of others is a vital part of a well-run service department.
  3. The staff is encouraged to contribute any ideas on improvement of maintenance services.
  4. Each staff member is responsible for the area in which he/she works. He must thoroughly clean and replace shop tools in their respective location.
  5. The mechanic must notify Foremen or Supervisor of all parts needed to keep up the maintenance of the equipment. The Equipment Manager or Shop Foreman will schedule follow-up of the repairs after the parts have arrived.
  6. Staff must fill in time sheets daily and report any work that is not completed for the late and early man to finish off.
  7. When a job is completed on site, the mechanic must check that repairs hold up and also check with Foreman for any other problems before leaving the area. Inform the operator or Foreman if temporary or permanent, also status of machine.
  8. Mechanics need to carry spare parts: o-rings, oil and any other small items to make a temporary repair.
  9. Need to keep in radio contact as to where you're going, when complete and if anything else in the area needs repair.
  10. Need to check out in evening before knocking off to see if there are any other breakdowns.
  11. The mechanic, through the Shop Foreman, should get in touch with field Foreman and Superintendent before scheduling shut down of any equipment during working ours.
  12. Carry and use trade associated tools, equipment, or material up to a weights of 95 pounds.
  13. Push, pull, load, and unload tools, equipment, or materials.
  14. Stand, stoop, bend, reach, climb, or walk.
